Training programme - Inspector of Cranes
Above the Hook

The training programme for Inspector of Cranes (Above the Hook) is organised by VTC and lasts for a total of 5 days.
After the training course there will be an exam.

Exams: 25 and 26 April 2019

> Wednesdays: 15, 22 and 29 May and 5 and 12 June 2019 (CANCELED DUE TO LITTLE REGISTRATIONS!)
Exams: 13 and 14 June 2019

> Wednesdays: 25 September and 2, 9, 16 and 23 October 2019
Exams: 24 and 25 October 2019

A training programme will only commence with sufficient participants, so early registration is necessary. 
Extra dates can be planned if there is sufficient interest.

€ 2,000 pp excl. VAT, for EKH members, and 
€ 4,000 pp excl. VAT, for non-EKH members. 

The price for the exam (practice and theory) for Above the Hook is 
€ 1,580 pp excl. VAT, for EKH members.
€ 3,160 pp excl. VAT, for non-EKH members

Training requirements

The required qualifications for admission to the EKH training programme for Inspector of Cranes are indicated below

> Qualifications
MBO mechanical engineering or similar level attained via a lower level education, supplemented with internal of external training programmes or courses and/or several years practical experience. Adequate basic knowledge of electrical engineering / switching technology.
 
> Experience
It is recommended that course participants have gained relevant practical experience with the maintenance, repair and inspection of cranes or have been sufficiently involved in the manufacture, assembly and/or installation of cranes.
 
> Exam/certificate
To take part in the certification exam for EKH Inspector of Cranes, adequate practical experience is a prerequisite.

The price for the exam (practice) for re-certification for Above the Hook is 
€1,330 pp excl. VAT, for EKH members.
€2,660 pp excl. VAT, for non-EKH members.

The price for the exam (theory) for re-certification for Above the Hook is 
€250 pp excl. VAT, for EKH members (€ 500 if the exam has to be taken orally)
€500 pp excl. VAT, for EKH members (€ 1,000 if the exam has to be taken orally)

Inspectors’ Days for Above the Hook

The refresher courses have been discontinued and have been replaced by the Inspectors’ Days. Attendance is compulsory to retain the certificate

EKH members received an invitation for this in early 2019, to be forwarded to their inspectors.
Inspectors who are not employed by an EKH member, can register from the start of 2019.
A maximum of 40 candidates can take part at any one time.

The training programme for EKH inspector for Lifting and Hoisting Equipment.
Below the Hook

The training programme for Inspector of Lifting and Hoisting Equipment (Above the Hook) is organised by VTC and lasts for a total of 4 x 2 days.
After the training course there will be an exam.

4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 25 and 26 March 2019 (SOLD OUT!)
Exam date 27 March 2019 (if more than 6 candidates 28 March 2019)

13, 14, 20, 21, 27 and 28 May 2019 en 3 and 4 June 2019.
Exam date 5 June 2019 (if more than 6 candidates in the group, also on 6 June 2019)

9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 24 and 30 September and 1 October 2019.
Exam date 2 October 2019 (if more than 6 candidates in the group, also on 3 October 2019)

Training requirements

The required qualifications for admission to the EKH training programme for Inspector Below the Hook are indicated below:
 
> Qualifications
A requirement is MBO mechanical engineering level 2, with adequate specific knowledge.
 
> Experience
It is recommended the participant has one year of proven experience with the delivery, inspection and the repair of lifting gear.

> Independence
The course participant must be able to work independently and take decisions.
 
> Communicative skills
The course participant has excellent verbal communicative skills
 
> Social skills
The course participant has excellent social skills when dealing with clients
 
> Exam/certificate
To take part in the certification exam for EKH Inspector for Lifting and Hoisting Equipment, adequate practical experience is a requirement.

Inspectors’ Days for Below the Hook

In order to retain the certificate, Inspector’s Days for Below the Hook will also be held in 2019. 
EKH members received an invitation for this in early 2019, to be forwarded to their inspectors.
Inspectors who are not employed by an EKH member, can also register.
A maximum of 33 candidates can take part at any one time.

Additional information

The training programmes for Inspector Above the Hook and Inspector Below the Hook are organised by VTC Course participants who are successful will receive an officially recognised and personal DNV-GL certificate.

Inspector’s Days for Above the Hook take place at:
> Koninklijke Metaalunie, Einsteinbaan 1, 3439 NJ Nieuwegein.
Lunch will likewise be provided.

The exams for Inspector Below the Hook are organised by the NECV examinations centre in Barneveld and take place at:
