The Central Board of Experts has an important role to play in TCVT. TCVT’s executive board is responsible for looking after all administrative and organisational aspects. The Central Board of Experts is responsible for the technical realisation and approval of certification programmes. In doing so, it takes into account the requirements that have been set up by the Dutch Accreditation Council. The Central Board of Experts comprises representatives from across the industry.

Because vertical transport is highly diverse in nature (construction, shipping, factories, railways, etc.), the Central Board of Experts has set up various working groups which are responsible for setting up and managing certification programmes. Likewise, the requirements for approving machines and equipment and the requirements made of machine operators (such as cranes), differ significantly. The working groups each has its own specialism to devise individual certification programmes.
